WHO WE ARE

After working on various projects Michael Homer and Kelly Nelson discovered a shared passion for story telling and using
the power of film to educate and entertain, then they organized DESK TOP HISTORY.

It is their shared goal through the DESK TOP HISTORY lens to take risks and create compelling documentary short films
that will not only educate and entertain but inspire young and old alike to want to learn more.

"People tend to forget that the word history contains the word story."
        - Ken Burns

Kelly enjoyed a 30+ year career in mergers, acquisitions and managing partner of a closely held merchant bank with offices in Los Angeles, New York and Europe. Kelly developed an interest in film finance and the film industry while living in Los Angeles, including in 2007 the creation and management of a film fund. He grew up in Salt Lake City in a family where home movies were taken upon every occasion. A love of photography developed in his formative years and turned into a life-long passion when he first saw an image appear before his eyes in the dark room during high school. Kelly developed an interest in documentary film making after seeing the Ken Burns Civil War series. In retirement as President from his merchant banking company in 2009, he continued as a producer and manager of a film fund. In 2013 Kelly organized Woosh Productions an independent film production company that cultivates and develops film projects.
