DESK TOP HISTORY produces documentary Short Films — compelling video narratives of events and people, past and present, that have helped to shape Utah's History. Michael Homer (Past Chair of the Board of State History, Utah State Historical Society from 1997 to 2014), and Kelly Nelson (President of Woosh Productions, an independent film production company) founded DESK TOP HISTORY after working on various projects together and discovering a shared passion for history, storytelling, and using the power of film to educate and entertain. As producers and directors, Michael and Kelly believe that Utahns are inquisitive, intelligent, and thirsty for original narratives involving provocative and remarkable people.
"Truth is stranger than fiction," Lord Byron famously said in Don Juan (1833). We, like Byron, believe that what actually happens in real life is far more amazing than anything one's imagination can conjure up.
As our name suggests, DESK TOP HISTORY will distribute original media content through Internet distribution channels and capitalize on a connected digital community.
